About Zac

Zac Estrada is a Southern California-based writer and content producer interested in cars, government, tech – and figuring out where the future of journalism is taking that writing and reporting.

His work has been featured on Jalopnik, Boston.com, Edmunds.com and CarsDirect. Zac was an editorial intern at startup Streetwise Media in Boston and has written politics and business news for the Santa Barbara Independent and Noozhawk.

In 2010 and 2011, Zac worked as a copy editor and writer for the Santa Barbara Daily Sound, where he was awarded with a California Newspaper Publishers Association award for Local Breaking News Coverage.

He is a graduate of Northeastern University’s School of Journalism and spent a month in Cuba studying photography through the university’s Dialogue of Civilizations program. Zac also attended Santa Barbara City College.

In addition to serving as News Editor for The Huntington News in 2011, Zac covered student government for Northeastern’s student-run, independent weekly newspaper. At Santa Barbara City College, he was Arts & Entertainment and News Editor for The Channels newspaper. He was part of a staff that received the 2009 Associated Collegiate Press’ Pacemaker Award for both print and online publications.
